Greaves’ reacts to his five-wicket haul against Pakistan
Reflecting on his historic feat after the day’s play, Greaves highlighted the role of team captain Roston Chase in setting a calm tone before he took the ball. Rather than placing pressure on him, Chase instructed him to focus strictly on maintaining consistent lines and lengths.
“When I came on, captain Roston Chase just said ‘continue to be disciplined in what you are doing’ and to see if I can get some wickets for the team. The ball nipped around, and I got some reward. Anytime I get the ball in hand, the team looks to me to be that solid player for them to try to dig us out of situations,” Greaves explained.
Though delighted with his maiden five-wicket haul, Greaves emphasized that the match remains far from over. Pakistan retaliated quickly with the ball during the final session of Day 3, leaving the West Indies struggling at 126/7 in their second innings.
