Man Utd handed huge injury boost for new season

Mainoo to be fit for new season

Manchester United have been handed a huge injury boost ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Red Devils recently suffered a couple of setbacks with Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez sustaining injuries at the World Cup.

United are yet to provide an update on the pair, but The Athletic claim that Mainoo’s back injury is not serious enough to keep him sidelined.

The English midfielder is currently on a three-week break after the World Cup, but he is expected to return to training thereafter.

The news is a boost for the Red Devils as Mainoo was instrumental in helping the club secure Champions League football last term.

United have already added two more midfielders in the current transfer window. They have recruited Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.

The club are not done yet and are eyeing another midfield recruit. Roma’s Manu Kone has emerged as a top target for the Red Devils.

Kone has already given the green light for a transfer.
