Diomande to Forest almost done?

Arsenal could miss out on signing another long-term target during the ongoing transfer window.

The Gunners recently sought to land Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, but Chelsea beat them to his signature with a record £117 million deal.

It is now reported that Nottingham Forest are in advanced negotiations to land the services of Sporting CP centre-back Ousmane Diomande.

A deal worth £32m plus add-ons has been agreed with the Portuguese giants, and the Ivory Coast international has given the green light too.

The news is a potential blow for the Gunners, given they have been long-term admirers of Diomande and have been linked since January 2023.

Arsenal have not made a genuine approach this summer but should have probably done, with William Saliba nursing a worrying back injury.

Diomande would provide good cover for the Frenchman, given he has a strong aerial presence and he is a superb ball-playing centre-back too.

As things stand, Forest are edging closer to landing his signature.
