Middlesbrough sign Spurs striker Lankshear in £20m deal

Middlesbrough have completed the signing of striker Will Lankshear from Tottenham.

The Championship club confirmed the transfer after agreeing a reported fee of £10million with Spurs, with the deal also including a further £10m in add-ons.

Lankshear scored 11 goals in 43 appearances for Oxford United last season as he spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the Kassam Stadium, though he could not prevent Oxford suffering relegation to League One.

He will now attempt to play a key role in helping Middlesbrough back to the top flight, following their defeat in the Championship play-off final back in May.

“Middlesbrough is such a massive club over the years; I deem it to be a Premier League club,” the 21-year-old told the club’s official website.

“The project here really excites me. I can’t wait to get started and be part of the journey, and get this club back where it belongs.

“I feel like now is the best time in my career. I’m ready to  hit the ground running and help this club.”
