Laimer extends Bayern Munich contract until 2029

Konrad Laimer has extended his contract with Bayern Munich until June 2029.

The 29-year-old, who joined Bayern in 2023 as a free agent, had one year left on his previous deal, but will now remain at the Allianz Arena for the next three seasons.

Laimer has made 136 appearances for Bayern since joining from RB Leipzig, scoring seven goals and providing 19 assists.

He has played in the third-most games since his arrival, behind Harry Kane and Joshua Kimmich (both 147), while recording the joint-fifth most assists.

Laimer has won two Bundesliga titles, one DFB-Pokal and one Franz Beckenbauer Supercup during his time at Bayern.

“For me, it’s something very special to take to the pitch in the Bayern jersey,” Laimer told the club’s website.

“I’ve often emphasised how happy I am in Munich and that it’s great fun to play football in this team.

“I’ve felt that here from day one. I can help the team in many positions and want to continue giving my all for Bayern every single second.

“Anything is possible with this team, and I can’t wait for the season to start again.”

Bayern won the league title by 16 points last season, while their 122 goals scored in the competition are the most of any team in a single campaign.

Vincent Kompany’s side return to competitive action on August 22, when they will face Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup.

Their Bundesliga title defence then starts six days later at home against Stuttgart.
