Game Of Thrones Officially Confirms Jon Snow Will Return In 2027

Whether you love him or hate him, there is no denying that Jon Snow is one of the most influential fictional characters of all time. Born as what we first thought to be an illegitimate child and raised alongside the Stark children, Game of Thrones soon revealed that he was actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, making him another surviving Targaryen alongside Daenerys. Well, at least in the show, this was revealed. Where the book series by George R.R. Martin is concerned, his parentage still remains a mystery.

Nevertheless, Jon Snow, who was portrayed by Kit Harrington in the beloved HBO television series, was part of many iconic moments and many of us can surely agree that one such moment was the famous Battle of the Bastards.

Now, with Jon Snow’s story coming to an end back in 2019 with the finale of Game of Thrones, and Martin taking his sweet time with the launch of Winds of Winter, it is no wonder that fans are eager to see Snow return, and luckily, he is set to grace our screens once more in 2027.

This news comes after the developers behind Game of Thrones: War of Westeros, recently published a blog post revealing that its upcoming real-time strategy game would be delayed until early 2027. According to PlaySide Studios, this is order to give them “the time needed to continue building towards that goal and ensure that the game reaches the high level of quality we are aiming for.”

Luckily, this announcement came alongside some new information surrounding the game, and also reveals that Jon Snow will play a large role in the story. With players able to command the armies of House Stark, House Lannister, House Targaryen, and even the Night King’s army, they will be able to take on the role of Jon Snow as he “leads his men into battle on the front lines, rallying those around him.”

It seems as though this ability was inspired by Jon’s role in the Battle of the Bastards, where men are glad to fight alongside him and throw down their lives for his cause. Not only that, but the blog post shows a clip of what this rallying cry looks like, placing Jon in the middle of his men and raising his sword. We even see the emblem of House Stark lighting up the battlefield, which looks pretty damn cool.

Jon will join the likes of Daenerys Targaryen, Jaime Lannister, Tywin Lannister, and more, as some of our favorite characters return to us in Game of Thrones: War for Westeros in early 2027.
