India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi enjoyed a memorable outing away from the cricket field as he attended the Wimbledon 2026 men’s singles final at Centre Court on Sunday. The young opener was joined by two Indian cricket stars for the prestigious occasion before sharing heartfelt thoughts about one of his biggest inspirations during an interaction with Star Sports. His emotional remarks and candid revelations from the event quickly caught the attention of fans.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi opens up on Yuvraj Singh’s influence

Dressed in a black blazer, white shirt, striped tie and sunglasses, Vaibhav looked sharp as he soaked in the atmosphere at one of the world’s most iconic sporting venues. During his interaction with Star Sports, the youngster spoke emotionally about Yuvraj Singh, revealing how special it was to meet his childhood idol and how valuable every conversation with the former India star has been.

“Woh mere idol bhi hain. Jab main unse pehli baar mila tha toh bahut achha laga tha. Maine unse kaafi baatein ki thi aur unhone mujhe bahut kuch samjhaya bhi. Ab unse itna kuch seekhne ko mil raha hai aur future ke liye bhi yeh mere liye bahut achha rahega. I can feel what he’s feeling right now because he was my idol as well. I remember when I first met him, it was the same feeling that he’s experiencing right now. Obviously, this is my first time watching Wimbledon, and that too the final with Yuvi paaji. It’s a very special day for me,” Vaibhav said.

The teenage sensation explained that Yuvraj has guided him on several aspects of the game and believes those learnings will help him immensely as his career progresses. Abhishek Sharma, who has frequently credited Yuvraj for playing a major role in his own development, said he could completely relate to Vaibhav’s emotions.
