IPL 2025: Rishabh Pant faces backlash over his batting form as satirical video sparks sister’s outrage

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain Rishabh Pant is under the spotlight for more than just his performance on the field in IPL 2025.

The Fauxy clip mocking ₹27 crore deal draws fire from Pant’s sister

A viral satirical video by parody platform ‘The Fauxy Sports’ has added fuel to the fire, poking fun at his ₹27 crore auction price tag. The video joked that LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka might hire Pant as a personal car driver to recover his investment—an attempt at humour that didn’t sit well with everyone.

Sakshi Pant’s Instagram clapback ignites online debate

Pant’s sister, Sakshi, didn’t take the parody lightly. Responding on Instagram, she lashed out at the creators with the comment: “That’s why we say two-faced people/media.” Her post quickly became a flashpoint online. While many fans sympathized with her protective stance, others argued that the satire was clearly meant in jest and should not be taken personally.

The satirical clip also included lines like, “All other IPL teams are reportedly offering ₹27 crore to LSG to ensure Pant never joins them,” and mentioned Goenka “apologizing to KL Rahul” for replacing him as captain—a sharp jab at both Pant’s current form and LSG’s leadership decisions.

The creators also mocked Pant by mentioning that the LSG team owner Sanjiv Goenka is now looking to hire him as a car driver.

Rishabh Pant’s poor show with the bat

Pant’s IPL 2025 campaign so far has been disappointing. In the four matches played so far, he scored just 19 runs, including a golden duck against Delhi Capitals (DC) and single-digit scores against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). These underwhelming performances have intensified pressure on the 26-year-old, with critics questioning his readiness to return as a leader following a long injury layoff.

Emotional toll on families in the IPL spotlight

Sakshi’s reaction also sheds light on the emotional strain public criticism can have on players’ families. Just weeks after her wedding to businessman Ankit Choudhary in Dehradun – a ceremony attended by cricketing icons like MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina – Sakshi now finds herself defending her brother in the public eye. In an age where social media amplifies every comment and meme, even satire can blur into perceived insult.
