MLC 2026 [WATCH]: Lhuan-dre Pretorius smashes colossal 102m six off Sunny Patel during SFU vs MI New York clash

Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 continued to deliver spectacular batting displays as Lhuan-dre Pretorius produced one of the biggest hits of the tournament during the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) clash against MI New York (MINY) in Dallas. The explosive left-handed opener played a breathtaking unbeaten century to power his side to a commanding nine-wicket victory, but it was his colossal 102-metre six off spinner Sunny Patel that completely stole the show.

Lhuan-dre Pretorius launches gigantic 102m six into the stands

The memorable moment arrived in the eighth over of San Francisco’s chase when Sunny floated one up on the stumps, hoping to break Pretorius’ rhythm. Instead, the youngster quickly got down on one knee and unleashed a ferocious slog sweep over deep mid-wicket.

The ball rocketed off the middle of the bat and sailed a staggering 102 metres into the stands, leaving teammates, commentators and spectators in awe. The sheer sound off the bat reflected the power behind the strike as Pretorius continued his assault on the MI New York bowlers. The monstrous maximum instantly became one of the standout moments of the ongoing MLC season and highlighted the fearless approach of the talented South African batter.

Pretorius remained unbeaten on a sensational 102 off just 52 balls, striking 10 fours and five sixes as the Unicorns completed the chase with 26 balls to spare.

Matthew Short shines as MI New York struggle with the bat

Earlier in the match, MI New York elected to bat but never managed to build substantial partnerships despite a promising start. Ryan Rickelton top-scored with 35, while Sunny chipped in with a valuable 32 lower down the order. However, Matthew Short proved to be the chief destroyer for San Francisco Unicorns, claiming three crucial wickets and breaking the backbone of the innings.

Beau Webster, Aaron Hardie and Haris Rauf also made valuable contributions with the ball as MI New York were restricted to 143 for 9 from their 20 overs. The modest total never looked enough once Pretorius found his rhythm, as San Francisco Unicorns cruised to a comprehensive victory to further strengthen their position at the top of the MLC 2026 points table.
