Chelsea have confirmed the transfer of Sporting CP winger Geovany Quenda on a permanent basis.

The Blues agreed to sign the 19-year-old from Sporting last summer, but the Portuguese club kept him for another campaign.

Quenda has now formally joined the Blues, and he is likely to compete with Estevao for a starting position on the right wing.

Quenda had a brilliant breakthrough season with the Portuguese giants, but the 2025/26 campaign was disrupted due to a metatarsal fracture.

The youngster did return to action towards the end of the campaign, and he will be eager to make a good impression at Chelsea in pre-season.

His arrival means that the Blues have the right wing position well covered, given Pedro Neto can likewise operate from the same role.

Chelsea, however, could make changes on the opposite end. There is speculation that Alejandro Garnacho could be sold after just one season.

The Blues are exploring the transfer market for a new left winger.
