Final Fantasy 10 Officially Returns With A Completely New Look

First released in 2001 as, you guessed it, the tenth main installment in the Final Fantasy franchise, Final Fantasy X took players to the world of Spira as we follow a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a monster known as Sin. Taking on the role of star athlete Tidus, he finds himself seeking revenge after Sin destroys his home city, and it is here that he travels to Spira and joins with summoner Yuna in order to kill Sin once and for all.

Meeting both critical and commercial success, Final Fantasy X was praised for its deeply emotional story with new-and-improved JRPG features that had not yet been included in previous Final Fantasy entries. Not only that, but it also marked the first entry to include a fully voice-acted cast, as well as a dynamic combat system and customizable progression.

With a remaster launching back in 2013, and more recently, the news that it would receive a Nintendo Switch 2 port on 23 July, it is an exciting time for fans of Final Fantasy X, but that is not all.

For those who have missed out on it, DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY is a fighting game with RPG elements that launched back in March of this year. Developed by Square Enix, this Android and iOS title marks the fifth game in the Dissidia series, and as you can probably expect from this one, it features some of our favorite Final Fantasy characters, including, of course, Tidus.

That is because Tidus is the latest Final Fantasy character to join the roster of this “3vs3 Team Boss Battle Arena” title, and fans were treated to a look at his brand-new character model courtesy of an official DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY trailer. Set to join the game’s roster on 30 June, there are just a few days until Tidus joins the fray, and fans took to the comments to share their thoughts on the hero’s new look.

“Of course they drop him during the World Cup lmao,” one user joked, referring to Tidus’ sports background. Another said,

“Tidus is easily one of The Top 10 Greatest Final Fantasy Protagonists Ever. Period!!!!!”

With some fans saying he looks “adorable” in his new outfits, whilst others were hoping that Yuna would have been added instead, it seems as though Tidus’ inclusion in the ever-growing DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY roster is a hit, and comes just in time for the upcoming launch of Final Fantasy X on the Nintendo Switch 2.
