Fans react as Sai Sudharsan smashes magnificent century for India A against Sri Lanka A in 2nd Unofficial Test



Cricket fans flooded social media with praise after Sai Sudharsan continued his outstanding red-ball form with a magnificent century for India A on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test against Sri Lanka A at the Galle International Stadium. Chasing Sri Lanka A’s first-innings total of 366, India A responded in commanding fashion as Sudharsan produced a marathon knock that laid the foundation for the visitors to take the lead, with Dhruv Jurel further tightening India’s grip on the contest.

After India A lost opener Aman Mokhade for 37, Sudharsan walked to the crease and looked in complete control from the outset. The stylish left-hander combined elegant strokeplay with tremendous patience, rotating the strike smartly while punishing every loose delivery. He brought up his half-century before converting it into another memorable century, frustrating the Sri Lankan bowlers throughout the day.

Sudharsan continued to dominate even after reaching three figures, displaying remarkable composure against both pace and spin. His brilliant innings eventually came to an end for 168 when left-arm spinner Dilum Sudeera finally broke the marathon knock, ending one of the finest innings of the unofficial Test series.

The left-hander’s knock was packed with classy drives, authoritative cuts and excellent game awareness, drawing widespread appreciation from fans, many of whom hailed him as one of India’s brightest red-ball prospects. He also shared a massive partnership with Devdutt Padikkal, who narrowly missed out on a century after being dismissed for 94, helping India A completely wrestle the momentum away from the hosts.

India A assert complete dominance over Sri Lanka A

Earlier in the day, India A wrapped up Sri Lanka A’s first innings for 366 after the hosts resumed on their overnight score of 288/5. Captain Sahan Arachchige fought valiantly with 127, but Gurnoor Brar and Saransh Jain shared eight wickets between them to prevent Sri Lanka A from extending their advantage.

India A then produced a superb batting display. Mokhade gave the visitors a brisk start before Sudharsan and Padikkal took complete control with a marathon stand for the second wicket. Following Sudharsan’s dismissal, skipper Jurel continued the momentum and remained unbeaten on 43 at the time of writing.

At 378/3 in 96 overs, India A have already taken a 12-run first-innings lead, putting themselves in a commanding position heading into the remainder of the contest. With Jurel still at the crease and plenty of batting depth remaining, the visitors will now look to build a substantial lead and push Sri Lanka A completely out of the game.
