Steppin Helps Earn Your Social Media Use One Step at a Time

The premise of the app is simple. You can choose what apps you’d like to limit access to. Thanks to Apple’s Screen Time, it can be social media or anything else.

To earn time using those apps, you’ll need to get up and walk. You can customize the number of steps needed for one minutes of app usage—everything from 25 to 500 steps. All of the earned time can reset daily, weekly, or never. That can be changed anytime you’d like.

When you’re ready to use your time, you’ll head back to Steppin to use your earned time.

Steps are counted on your iPhone and other wearables like the Apple Watch and Garmin devices.

In just a few minutes, I was able to quickly set the app up. Being able to curb social media and walk more is a powerful combination.

After just a few minutes of mindlessly headed toward Instagram, I was greeted with a message from the app. I’m excited to keep using it and see if I can turn down my social media use, and increase my step count.

Only for the iPhone, Steppin is a free download on the App Store now. There are no in-app purchases or subscriptions.
