Brentford have handed a new six-year contract to impressive full-back Michael Kayode, with an option to extend that deal by a further 12 months.
Kayode joined the Bees, initially on loan, from Fiorentina in January 2025 and has gone on to make 56 appearances for the club in all competitions.
He built a reputation as the Premier League’s best long-throw specialist last season as Keith Andrews’ side finished ninth, only missing out on European qualification on goal difference.
Kayode, who has been capped up to under-21 level by Italy, appeared in all but one of Brentford’s Premier League games last season, creating 16 chances from set-pieces.
Only nine players – led by the Premier League’s single-season assist record holder Bruno Fernandes – created more opportunities from dead balls.
“Ever since I joined the club, everything has been amazing. It feels like I’ve been playing for Brentford for 10 years”

Andrews said: “Michael had an amazing season last year. He epitomised everything good that we do. His development and evolution has been really, really impressive.
“Michael is someone that we love working with every single day, who comes in with such an enthusiastic demeanour, and is a joy to be around and to coach.
“We’re absolutely delighted that he wants to stay because we love having him here, and this new contract is absolutely deserved.”
