Major League Cricket (MLC) 2026 witnessed yet another spellbinding bowling display on Thursday as USA pacer Jasdeep Singh ripped through the Washington Freedom (WF) batting lineup during their clash against Seattle Orcas (SO). Chasing a daunting target of 228, Freedom required a strong start from their experienced top order, but Jasdeep had other plans as he dismantled the opposition with a sensational new-ball spell.
The right-arm seamer extracted sharp movement off the surface and consistently troubled the batters with his scrambled-seam deliveries. After removing Steven Smith earlier in the innings, Jasdeep returned for his second over and produced two absolute gems that left both Andries Gous and Glenn Maxwell with no answers. The dismissals immediately shifted all the momentum in Seattle’s favour and sparked wild celebrations among the Orcas players.
Jasdeep Singh rattles Andries Gous and Glenn Maxwell with consecutive peach deliveries
The memorable moment unfolded in the fifth over of Washington Freedom’s innings. On the very first ball of the over, Jasdeep bowled a teasing length delivery with a scrambled seam that jagged back sharply after pitching. Gous attempted to defend but was beaten on the inside edge as the ball crashed into middle and leg stump, sending the stumps flying.
If the first wicket was impressive, the next delivery was even better. Facing his very first ball, Maxwell was greeted with another delivery that pitched on a similar length before nipping back through the gate. The Australian star remained rooted to the crease and offered a tentative defensive push, only to watch the ball sneak between bat and pad and smash the top of off stump.
Jasdeep erupted in celebration after completing the double strike, while Maxwell walked back without troubling the scorers. The two stunning wickets put the pacer on a hat-trick and left Washington Freedom reeling early in their massive run chase. The clips quickly went viral on social media, with fans applauding Jasdeep for producing one of the finest bowling spells of the tournament so far.

Seattle Orcas cruise to a dominant victory over Washington Freedom
While Jasdeep’s fiery spell stole the headlines, Seattle Orcas also delivered a complete team performance to secure an emphatic 88-run victory. Batting first, the Orcas posted a mammoth 227/6 in their 20 overs. Shimron Hetmyer led the charge with a breathtaking unbeaten 79 off just 33 deliveries, while captain Marcus Stoinis changed the course of the innings with a blistering 42 from only 16 balls, including five sixes in a single over. Tim Seifert chipped in with 37 at the top, and Matthew Breetzke added valuable runs before Marco Jansen finished as Washington’s standout bowler with figures of 3/33.
In reply, Washington Freedom’s chase never gathered momentum after Jasdeep ripped through the top order. The seamer finished with outstanding figures of 5/24, dismissing Smith, Gous, Maxwell, Jack Edwards and Jansen. Freedom were reduced to 42/5 inside the Powerplay and never recovered despite a late unbeaten 31 from Amila Aponso. Kyle Gannon provided excellent support with two wickets as Seattle eventually bowled out the defending champions for 139, sealing a comprehensive win that lifted them to second place on the MLC 2026 points table.
