Australia Women delivered a commanding all-round performance to register a massive 113-run victory over Pakistan Women in Match 21 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 at Headingley. After electing to bat first, the defending champions piled up an imposing 199/7 before bowling Pakistan out for just 86 in 13.4 overs. Veteran all-rounder Ellyse Perry led the charge with both bat and ball and was deservedly named Player of the Match.

Ellyse Perry anchors Australia’s dominant batting display

Australia suffered an early setback when Beth Mooney was dismissed off the very first ball of the innings. However, Georgia Voll and Perry quickly steadied the innings with an aggressive partnership that put Pakistan’s bowlers under pressure. Voll played an entertaining knock of 39 from 28 deliveries, striking seven boundaries and maintaining the scoring rate during the powerplay.

Perry then took complete control of the innings. The experienced batter produced a masterclass, scoring 71 runs from just 48 balls. Her innings featured nine fours and a six as she found gaps with ease and punished anything loose. Despite losing Ashleigh Gardner cheaply, Australia never lost momentum.

Annabel Sutherland contributed a valuable 27 off 18 balls, while Nicola Carey provided the late fireworks with a brisk 26 from only 13 deliveries. Useful cameos from Sophie Molineux and Alana King helped Australia finish strongly at 199/7 from their 20 overs.

Pakistan’s bowlers had a difficult evening, though Sadia Iqbal was impressive with figures of 2/31 from four overs. Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu also claimed two wickets each, but the Australian batting lineup proved too powerful throughout the innings.

Australian bowlers tear through Pakistan batting lineup

Chasing a daunting target of 200, Pakistan never managed to gain any momentum. Opener Muneeba Ali fought hard with a spirited 32 off 25 deliveries, including four boundaries and a six, but lacked support from the other end.

The Australian bowling attack maintained relentless pressure from the start. Molineux struck twice while conceding just six runs in her two overs, immediately putting Pakistan on the back foot. Georgia Wareham was equally economical, giving away only two runs and taking a wicket.

Iram Javed attempted to counterattack with 14 from nine balls, while captain Fatima Sana added 17 from 12 deliveries. However, regular wickets prevented Pakistan from building any meaningful partnerships.

Sutherland and Perry added to Pakistan’s misery by claiming two wickets each. Perry capped off a memorable outing by removing key middle-order batters and finishing with figures of 2/9 from her lone over. Pakistan’s innings folded for 86 in 13.4 overs, well short of the target.
