Marvel’s Iron Man Series Officially Returns On Disney+ With New Episodes

Iron Man is back in 2026 with new episodes of his Marvel series on Disney+. Tony Stark played a key role in many Marvel Comics storylines before he was brought to live-action in many of the most important movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the character has clearly received a major boost in popularity due to Robert Downey Jr.’s take on the hero.

Now, Iron Man is seen by many as one of Marvel’s core heroes, and for good reason, as the MCU would not be the successful franchise it has become without Downey’s casting as Iron Man. The actor led a trilogy of Iron Man movies and appeared in multiple other franchises, which culminated in Tony’s death in Avengers: Endgame.

2026 will finally see Downey return to Marvel for the first time since then as one of the leads of Avengers: Doomsday‘s cast, although it remains unknown if he will return as Tony Stark or even play a multiverse variant of Iron Man in addition to his new role as Doctor Doom. While Iron Man’s fate in live-action is up in the air, Marvel fans can get more of the character in animation.

Over the years, Iron Man has appeared in multiple animated series, including a couple of solo shows. The latest of those animated series from Marvel that spotlights Tony Stark is Iron Man and His Awesome Friends. 30 episodes of the animated series have been released so far, with the latest batch of episodes now available on streaming.

New Episodes Of Marvel’s Iron Man Series Are Out Now

Iron Man and His Awesome Friends is a spinoff, coming after the success of another animated series, Spidey and His Amazing Friends. That said, it recast Tony Stark, as John Stamos had originally voiced the hero in the Spider-Man show, and Mason Blomberg is in charge of Iron Man’s voice in Iron Man and His Awesome Friends. After a reasonable wait since March 6, a new batch of Iron Man and his Awesome Friends season 1 episodes was released on Disney+ this Friday, June 12. There are 11 new episodes of the Iron Man series, all divided into two separate adventures.

In a month when there are no new Marvel Studios live-action or animated series, with the next release being X-Men ’97 season 2’s debut on July 1, Iron Man and His Awesome Friends is Disney+’s splashiest new Marvel release. The animated series focuses on Tony Stark and two other characters, the “Awesome Friends” from the show’s title, who are Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, and Amadeus Cho, one of Marvel’s Hulks in the comics, who goes by Iron Hulk in the Disney series and dons an appropriate Iron Man-like armor themed after the Hulk.

Why Iron Man And His Awesome Friends Is Worth Watching On Disney+

Iron Man and His Awesome Friends is one of the best Marvel series on Disney+ for young viewers. The preschool Marvel series is an excellent entry point into the Marvel universe for kids who have not discovered the wonder the franchise has to offer, or those in search of more material from one of Marvel’s biggest heroes. For parents, it is a funny Marvel series with plenty of other characters that are not from the title’s Iron Man family of heroes. It keeps things fresh and exciting at every turn.

The main villain of Iron Man and His Awesome Friends is Ultron, whose MCU version will return on October 14 on Disney+’s live-action VisionQuest series starring Paul Bettany. Marvel’s new Iron Man and His Awesome Friends episodes feature many beloved characters from the comics to the show, including Thor, Loki, Odin, Giant-Man (Scott Lang), Black Panther, Hawkeye, Iron Spider (Anya Corazon), and more. The Iron Man series will also lead to 2027’s animated Avengers: Mightiest Friends.
