FAN EXPO Chicago is returning August 14–16 to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center with a legendary lineup of guests. The 4-day convention celebrates all things pop culture, including movies and television, comics, anime, horror, sci-fi, video games, and more. FAN EXPO Chicago is one of the oldest and largest pop culture events in North America, dating back to the 1970s.

This year, FAN EXPO Chicago is pulling out all the stops when it comes to the guest list. Hollywood legend Kurt Russell is making his first-ever convention appearance at FAN EXPO Chicago, giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the star through autograph signings, photo ops, and a live onstage panel appearance. Despite demand over the years, Russell has never appeared at a convention before, making this con one fans won’t want to miss.

Kurt Russell Is a Hollywood Legend

Kurt Russell has had an expansive career across film and television. He has portrayed some of Hollywood’s most enduring action heroes and cult icons, including Snake Plissken in Escape from New York, R.J. MacReady in The Thing, and Jack Burton in Big Trouble in Little China, to name a few. He has lent his talent recently to franchise favorites, as Ego the Living Planet in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Mr. Nobody in the Fast and Furious series. Russell has also appeared alongside his family in projects, acting with his wife and fellow icon Goldie Hawn in several films, including 1987’s Overboard and The Christmas Chronicles films on Netflix, and starring alongside his son and fellow actor Wyatt Russell in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Apple TV+. Wyatt Russell has also featured as a guest at previous FAN EXPO conventions.

In a press release from FAN EXPO, Russell expressed his feelings surrounding his first convention appearance.

“I’m looking forward to making my first convention appearance at FAN EXPO Chicago. After all these years, it’ll be a new experience for me, and I’m excited to meet the fans who have supported my work and to see what makes these events very special for so many.”

FAN EXPO Is Bringing the Stars to Chicago

Russell joins an already impressive lineup of guests at FAN EXPO Chicago. The convention includes the continuation of the Hobbits’ 25th Anniversary Reunion tour featuring Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, Dominic Monaghan, and Billy Boyd, Karl Urban, and fellow cast members from The Boys, famed director and composer John Carpenter, and more.
