6 Best New Shows Coming To HBO Max In June 2026

HBO Max is adding new content to its catalog throughout June 2026, including some exciting TV shows, both new and returning. The world of streaming has become highly competitive, with many platforms (free and subscription-based) now available and offering diverse content. A strong and popular competitor is HBO Max, which, since its launch in 2020, has stood out for its licensed and original content across various genres.

In addition to movies and TV shows from HBO and Warner Bros., HBO Max is home to titles from Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, TCM, the world of DC Comics, and lifestyle and reality TV brands like TLC and HGTV. As mentioned above, HBO Max has also stood out for its original content, especially TV shows, with some of its most notable projects to date being Hacks, The Pitt, It: Welcome to Derry, and Peacemaker, among others.

Like most streaming platforms, HBO Max adds new movies and TV shows to its catalog every month (while others have to say goodbye), and June 2026 is no exception. This month will see the return of some of the platform’s most popular TV shows, along with the revival of a beloved animated sitcom, and new TV shows from different genres, ensuring that subscribers will find something that fits their taste.

Rick and Morty (Season 9) – June 7

Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, Rick and Morty is an animated sci-fi sitcom that follows cynical mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his neurotic 14-year-old grandson Morty. In addition to exploring their chaotic family life, with Rick’s parents and his sister, Rick and Morty follows the title characters through their even more chaotic interdimensional adventures, traveling across a multiverse with infinite realities, different planets, dimensions, and more.

Rick and Morty has been praised since its debut in 2013 for its concept, creativity, animation, and humor, allowing it to continue for many more seasons. Now, season 9 of Rick and Morty started airing on May 24, and new episodes will arrive weekly throughout June. Rick and Morty season 9 is scheduled to end on July 26, 2026, and the show has already been renewed for a 10th season, while a movie adaptation is reportedly in development.

Regular Show: The Lost Tapes (Season 1) – June 8

Regular Show: The Lost Tapes is an animated sitcom created by J. G. Quintel and a revival of the popular Cartoon Network animated series Regular Show. The Lost Tapes reunites the audience with Mordecai (voiced by Quintel) and Rigby (William Salyers), best friends and groundskeepers at a local park, who often put fun above work. Set after the events of the finale of Regular Show, the Lost Tapes’ adventures are told through VHS tapes found by Pops in the afterlife.

Thanks to that, the stories of The Lost Tapes can take place at any point in the Regular Show timeline, so it doesn’t have to follow the continuity of the main show. Also returning in The Lost Tapes are Benson, Skips, Muscle Man, and Hi-Five Ghost. The first 10 episodes of Regular Show: The Lost Tapes premiered on Cartoon Network in May 2026 and will now be available to stream on HBO Max on June 8, with the rest of the episodes waiting for an official release date.

Proud (Season 1) – June 12

One of the most interesting HBO Originals arriving on HBO Max in June 2026 is the TV series Proud. Created by Karol Klementewicz, Proud is a Polish LGBTQ+ drama TV show that follows Filip (Ignacy Liss), a care-free, party-loving, but arrogant young gay man living in Warsaw. Filip’s life takes an unexpected turn when his sister passes away, and he’s forced to become the guardian of his infant niece. Not only does Filip now have to adapt to a quieter and more responsible lifestyle as a parent, but he also has to confront societal prejudices against gay people raising children.

Proud is a look at Poland’s LGBTQ+ scene as well as the struggles they go through in a conservative society, while also exploring a complex family story and Filip’s personal journey. Proud has been praised by critics for its story, performances, and tone, as well as for the complex topics it addresses, and won the International Competition Grand Prize at the 2026 Series Mania Festival.

My Adventures With Superman (Season 3) – June 14

Another animated TV show returning to HBO Max in June 2026 is My Adventures with Superman, an animated superhero TV show based on DC Comics’ Superman, and developed by Jake Wyatt, Brendan Clougher, and Josie Campbell. My Adventures with Superman follows Clark Kent (voiced by Jack Quaid) and Lois Lane (Alice Lee), who develop a crush on each other. While Lois is building her career as a star reporter, Clark is building his identity as Superman and exploring his origins. With the help of their friend Jimmy Olsen (Ishmel Sahid), Clark and Lois report on the biggest stories and save the day from various villains.

Unlike other DC shows available on HBO Max, My Adventures with Superman is a lot lighter, upbeat, and less serious (although it does have its moments), with its main focus being the daily lives of Clark, Lois, and Jimmy, as well as their friendships and other personal relationships. The upcoming season 3 of My Adventures with Superman will introduce Green Lantern Corps member Jessica Cruz, who will later lead the spinoff show My Adventures with Green Lantern.

House of the Dragon (Season 3) – June 21

Emma D'arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen in season 3 of House of the Dragon

Game of Thrones is one of the best TV shows of all time, as well as one of HBO’s biggest and most successful productions, and such a rich universe couldn’t end with it. The Game of Thrones franchise continues to expand on TV with spinoffs, the first one being House of the Dragon, a prequel to the main show. House of the Dragon is based on parts of George R. R. Martin’s 2018 book Fire & Blood, and takes place around 200 years before the end of Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon is set a century after the Seven Kingdoms are united by the Targaryen conquest, and it sees King Viserys I breaking tradition by naming his firstborn daughter, Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), as his heir to the Iron Throne. This triggers political tension, societal divisions, and more, without forgetting about the drama within the Targaryen clan. House of the Dragon is already renewed for a fourth and final season, projected for a 2028 release.

HBO Max is bringing a comedy show with a twist in June 2026 with Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness. Created by Larry David and Jeff Schaffer, and produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness is a comedy sketch series made in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The twist, however, is Larry David’s presence.

Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness, then, consists of four sketches per episode in which major historical moments are satirized, with David’s signature comedic style. Among the show’s confirmed guest stars are Bill Hader, Kathryn Hahn, Jon Hamm, Jerry Seinfeld, and Vince Vaughn, as well as Barack Obama himself. Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness is set for a June 26, 2026, release and consists of seven episodes.
