Man Utd midfielder free to leave for just £24m

Ugarte on his way out soon?

Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte is free to pursue a new challenge away from the Red Devils this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ugarte has been a second-choice defensive midfielder for United over the past year. He has played second fiddle to Casemiro, who is expected to leave on a free transfer this summer.

Despite Casemiro’s exit, Ugarte has no future with the Red Devils and the hierarchy have informed his entourage that he is free to pursue a new club in the next transfer window.

United purchased him from Paris Saint-Germain for £43 million two years ago, but he could be sold for just £24 million, having barely played in the league in recent months.

The Red Devils believe his price tag could drop even further and seem desperate to offload him at the earliest possibility. Inter Milan and AC Milan are among Italian clubs monitoring him at the moment.

Atletico Madrid and Napoli are likewise admirers of the Uruguayan.
