Man Utd won’t sign Anderson

Manchester United have pulled out of the race to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer, according to BBC Sport.

The Red Devils are currently on the cusp of landing Atalanta midfielder Ederson. They are expected to pay a fee of around £46 million.

Anderson has also been linked with the club on numerous occasions, but it is now claimed that the player is leaning towards joining Manchester City.

United are aware of the player’s stance as well, and they don’t plan to overpay to try and beat the Cityzens to his signature in the coming days.

Anderson had a fantastic 2025/26 season with the Tricky Trees, and he is expected to cost at least 105 million pounds for the Cityzens.

Man City have yet to reach an agreement with Forest for the 23-year-old, but there is optimism that a package with add-ons will be sorted.

United, on the other hand, are exploring alternatives to Anderson. Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba is among the top names explored.
