Manchester City lead Elliot Anderson race

According to BBC, both Manchester City and Manchester United are pushing to sign Elliot Anderson this summer, but the Nottingham Forest midfielder is leaning towards the Etihad as his destination, rather than Old Trafford.

Being a pretty much complete midfield player with plenty of Premier League experience at the age of 23, a number of clubs have been credited with interest in his services. As for United, they’re not willing to enter into a long saga or a bidding war – it is believed that the transfer fee might surpass the record for a British player set by Declan Rice’s move from West Ham at Arsenal in 2023, which amounted to a total of £105million.

However, City and Forest are still far apart in their respective valuations of the player, and though the negotiations are ongoing, no agreement appears close. Therefore, every possibility is still on the table – Anderson could stay at Forest, he could go to United, or a third club might move in and snatch him away.
