Hakimi won’t start vs Arsenal in UCL final

PSG defender Achraf Hakimi is unlikely to make the starting XI for the Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest next weekend.

The European champions qualified for the final after a hard-fought win over Bayern Munich. They are widely considered as favourites to beat the Gunners in Hungary on Saturday.

Ahead of the game, L’Equipe claim that Hakimi has only started individual training sessions after a thigh injury that kept him out of the second leg of the Champions League semi-final.

He is poised to return to full training on Wednesday, but it is unlikely that he will be deemed fit to start for Les Parisiens against the Gunners.

The news is a huge boost for the Gunners, given Hakimi has been instrumental to Les Parisiens’ rise to the top of European football.

The Moroccan has been a regular distributor of goals and assists for the Parisian giants. His absence from the first XI is a big advantage for Arsenal.
