First released back in 2024 but recently receiving a major update that completely overhauls the game, this free-to-play fantasy life sim adventure combining the horse-loving features of Red Dead Redemption 2 with the vast and magical open-world of The Legend of Zelda, Palia is back and bigger than ever, and still very much free to enjoy.

Developed by Singularity 6 Corporation, Palia allows players to craft, explore, and create both the life and home of their dreams, with both relaxation and joy in a vibrant, heartwarming world. In a world full to the brim with adventure and lore, you will also need to find the time to discover the secrets of the Ancient Humans by interacting with “Palia’s Villagers, raise adorable animal companions on your Ranch, and help shape the story around you.”

Since 2024, Palia has been a key part of the cozy game genre, and now, thanks to a major expansion update, players are flocking to the free sim once more. The expansion, titled The Royal Highlands, is now available.

Golden horizons, thundering hooves, and timeless elegance await you in Palia’s grandest adventure yet.

As Palia’s largest adventure zone yet, the Royal Highlands are filled with sunkissed fields and a “touch of old-world elegance” as players immerse themselves in a world with brand-new Main Story, Guide, and Discovery quests galore. Featuring the arrival of mounts which can see you gallop across the open fields, the ability to raise and rear your stead, and even meet new villagers along the way, this major Palia update also includes: brand-new accomplishments, hidden treasures, a new ecosystem consisting of new fish, trees, minerals, and more, as well as new potions and utility arrows.

The Royal Highlands also welcome new decor, storage, crafting recipes, customization, and even a clothing dye system, meaning that you will be able to adapt both your character and your home to your own style.
