This year is quite a big one for The Legend of Zelda, with the beloved franchise celebrating its 40th birthday and fans waiting in the wings to see exactly what Nintendo is going to do to mark the occasion. The best bet right now is the Ocarina of Time remake, with the rumors around that given further credence by the fact that the leaker also confirmed Star Fox at the same time, and that game is now a reality.
At the same time, the movie is progressing through production smoothly, and there’s still the faint hope that we might get an announcement for the first Switch 2 native Zelda release. While we wait for all that, there is a new product that’s available for pre-order, and it really is one of the coolest items we’ve seen tied to any game.
Over on First4Figures, you should be able to find the listing page for their latest resin collectible, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Decayed Master Sword Life-Size Statue. The fact that it’s the decayed Master Sword immediately adds a ton of unique depth to the model, and it’s the first one of this size available anywhere.
In describing the product to the public, the retailer shared the following:
“The statue draws inspiration from the scene where the Master Sword is shattered by the Gloom released during Ganondorf’s resurrection beneath Hyrule Castle. This life-size statue depicts the Decayed Master Sword standing upright, with the dark energy of the Gloom spreading upward from the resin base and enveloping the corroded sections of the blade. The handle is crafted from metal, the blade is made of durable ABS, and the sword can be detached from the base.”
It also comes with an authentication card if you ever do decide to sell it onward, and a limited edition numbering, which obviously isn’t necessary, but is nice to have. As you might expect with a statue of this quality and scale, it doesn’t come cheap, with the Master Sword retailing at $623.99. That said, it is a unique item, and if you’re a fan of the series with the necessary disposable income, it’s a very cool release to add to the collection.
If you’ve played through Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll know the Master Sword went through a bit of a rough time, so it’s nice to see that version marked in this physical release. What role it will play in the next game is unclear at this point, but it’s a fairly safe bet that it will show up in some form.
