Fans go crazy as Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma fire SRH to emphatic win over RCB in IPL 2026

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) continues to deliver high-octane drama, and the 67th match of the season was no exception. Played under the bright lights of Hyderabad on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) hosted Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a high-stakes encounter that left the home crowd in absolute euphoria. In what was a phenomenal display of modern T20 batting, SRH completely dismantled the RCB bowling attack before sealing a highly convincing 55-run victory in their final league stage game of the season.

Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen and Abhishek Sharma run riot putting on a huge total against RCB

Electing to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad unleashed an absolute batting masterclass, posting a mammoth total of 255/4 in their allotted 20 overs. The tone was set early on by dynamic opener Abhishek Sharma, with a blistering 56 off just 22 balls, hitting 4 fours and a staggering 5 sixes. Abhishek brought up his half-century in a mere 20 deliveries, ensuring SRH crossed the 100-run mark inside 9 overs despite losing his opening partner, Travis Head (26).

Once Abhishek departed, the incoming Ishan Kishan joined forces with Heinrich Klaasen to orchestrate a ruthless 113-run partnership for the third wicket. Klaasen was in a destructive mood, smashing 51 off 24 balls, punctuated by 5 massive sixes, reaching his fifty in 23 balls before getting caught out off Krunal Pandya.

Meanwhile, Kishan anchored the heavy hitting while maintaining an aggressive tempo, top-scoring with a brilliant 79 off 46 balls. His stellar knock included 8 fours and 3 sixes, earning him the well-deserved Player of the Match award. A late cameo by Nitish Kumar Reddy, who remained unbeaten on 29 off just 12 balls, pushed the projected score well past the 250 mark, leaving the RCB bowlers visually deflated.

SRH edge past RCB with a convincing victory in their last league game

Chasing a daunting target of 256 runs, Royal Challengers Bengaluru needed an explosive start, but the pressure of the scoreboard proved too heavy. Venkatesh Iyer showed immense intent early on, playing a rapid knock of 44 runs off just 19 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes. However, SRH’s bowling unit kept striking at crucial intervals. Emerging pacer Eshan Malinga broke RCB’s momentum early on, dismissing both Iyer and Devdutt Padikkal (21) to finish with impressive figures of 2 for 33 in his 4 overs.

Iconic opener Virat Kohli struggled to find his usual fluent rhythm and was dismissed for 15 off 11 balls by Sakib Hussain, who bowled tightly to register an economy rate of 7.75. RCB captain Rajat Patidar fought valiantly in the middle overs, accumulating a steady 56 off 39 balls, while Krunal Pandya chipped in with a fighting, unbeaten 41 off 31 balls.

Despite their efforts, the required run rate swelled past recovery. When Head dismissed Patidar in the 19th over, all hopes of a miraculous chase evaporated. RCB eventually finished their 20 overs at 200/4. With this 55-run triumph, SRH wrapped up their league stage on a high, sending a loud warning to their upcoming playoff opponents
