Zimbabwe announces multi-format fixtures of the home series against Bangladesh

Zimbabwe Cricket has officially confirmed a full-fledged home series against Bangladesh, with the two sides scheduled to face each other in all three formats during June and July. The upcoming tour will feature one Test match, three ODIs and three T20Is, bringing another exciting chapter to the growing rivalry between the two nations.

The series comes at an important time for Zimbabwe cricket, especially after the team’s remarkable run at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Playing fearless cricket on the global stage, Zimbabwe reached the Super Eight round for the first time in tournament history and grabbed headlines with memorable victories over Australia and Sri Lanka. The Bangladesh series will now give fans a chance to watch the side return home with renewed confidence and momentum.

One-off Test to begin the tour in Harare

The multi-format assignment will begin with a one-off Test match at the Harare Sports Club from June 28 to July 2. Both teams share a competitive recent history in the longest format, making the fixture an intriguing contest.

The last time Zimbabwe and Bangladesh met in a Test series was in 2025 in Bangladesh. Zimbabwe stunned the hosts with a thrilling three-wicket victory in the opening Test before Bangladesh bounced back strongly to level the series 1-1. That result gave Zimbabwe a huge boost and highlighted the steady progress the side has made in red-ball cricket over the past few years.

Harare will also host all three ODI matches scheduled for July 6, 9 and 11. The venue has often provided competitive conditions, and Zimbabwe will look to continue their positive performances in front of home supporters.

T20I leg to shift to Bulawayo

After the ODI series, the action will move to Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo for the three-match T20I series. The shortest format has become one of Zimbabwe’s biggest strengths recently, especially following their strong World Cup showing earlier this year. The T20I matches are scheduled to take place on July 15, 17 and 19. Zimbabwe fans will be eager to see whether the team can carry forward the aggressive and fearless brand of cricket that earned them praise during the T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh, meanwhile, will also view the tour as an important opportunity to test combinations ahead of a busy international calendar. The visitors have traditionally been a competitive side in white-ball cricket and will be aiming to improve their record in Zimbabwe. Interestingly, Bangladesh’s previous tour to Zimbabwe came in 2022, where the hosts claimed both the ODI and T20I series by a 2-1 margin. That success remains one of Zimbabwe’s most memorable home achievements in recent years.
