Barcelona v Real Betis: Commentary, updates, goals and stats as Barca look to match Madrid record

It is hard to know what the Barcelona fans are enjoying most at the moment: their own club’s title success or the meltdown at arch rivals Real Madrid.

Barca won the league last Sunday with a 2-0 win over Madrid but slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat at Alaves in midweek.

They do have the chance to create history when they face Real Betis tonight. Should Hansi Flick’s side win, they will have claimed victory in every single home match in the 2025/26 La Liga season. That hasn’t been achieved for 40 years, since Madrid managed it in 1985/86.

Betis have also had a fine season and they are guaranteed a place in next year’s Champions League.
