Gordon agrees Bayern move – Soccer News

According to multiple reports, Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon has reached an agreement with Bayern Munich over a proposed transfer this summer, and the negotiations between the two clubs are now underway.

First reports of Bayern’s move for Gordon broke in mid-April, saying a contact with the 25-year-old’s representatives had been made to check if he would be interested in coming to the Allianz Arena, and if the response was positive – as seems to have been the case – the talks between the clubs would be instigated. It was later reported that Newcastle would be willing to sell, but only if their valuation of £75 million is met.

Primarily a left-winger, Gordon is fully capable of operating as a central attacker, and given that Nicolas Jackson is set to return to Chelsea, as well as the thrivings of Harry Kane, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise, it seems his role at Bayern is likely to be a versatile backup for any of the three attacking positions – if the transfer is completed over the summer.
