Ocarina Of Time Release Confirmed For May 21

For many people, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is still their favorite Zelda game. Many consider it their favorite action-adventure game, period, and some think it’s the best game ever made. No matter where you stand, you’re in good company, as it’s one of the most beloved video games in history, from critical reception to sales, to all-time lists.

Those same fans are hoping that Nintendo will celebrate in style during the 40th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda celebrations this year. We’ve gotten a LEGO set out of it so far, and the potential for an Ocarina of Time Switch 2 remake, thanks to a new leak. But you’ll have to mark your calendar sooner than that possible Q3 or Q4 release window.

On X, fans are celebrating a new Ocarina of Time release, which is due out on May 21. Given everything else, this is starting to become quite the year.

Game Press just posted on X that they’re opening pre-orders for the Echoes of Hyrule book. In it, you’ll “relive the epic story of Ocarina of Time,” complete with original illustrations. The idea is to tell the game’s story chronologically, using images and illustrations to narrate its adventure. It’s a cool concept, and the original art looks fantastic so far, including the cover.

If you’re interested, the deluxe edition comes with the following extras:

  • The Echoes of Hyrule book
  • A foil card from Ocarina of Time
  • Two bookmarks

There’s also a “Time Hero” collector’s edition, which comes with:

  • All the contents of the deluxe
  • An Ocarina manual
  • A character map
  • Two image sheets
  • A numbered certificate

It’s coming out sooner than expected, as the book goes on sale on May 21. It’ll cost you roughly $29.99 USD for the standard edition, and about $39.99 for the collector’s edition.

Ocarina of Time is having a heck of a year in 2026, coinciding with the series’ 40th anniversary. First, we had the early announcement of a new LEGO set featuring the memorable climactic battle, and the Ocarina of Time remake could come out as early as this year. Hopefully, Nintendo has more up its sleeve for this monumental anniversary, but if the latter comes to pass, it’ll be remembered for years to come.

For now, if you’re a massive Ocarina of Time fan, you can enjoy the Echoes of Hyrule book. It would be great to read it alongside a replay of the original to prepare for the eventual remake.
