Arsenal are expected to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi amid interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Gunners are long-term admirers of the Spain international and it was reported in January that talks were advanced to recruit the midfielder.
Madrid and Barcelona have joined the race in recent weeks, but Radio Marca claim that there is no possibility of a hijack in the coming months.
Zubimendi has already given his word to the Gunners and manager Mikel Arteta. The 26-year-old is poised to join the club this summer.
Sociedad have no intention to sell for less than his £50m release clause.
Arsenal have a good working relationship with the La Liga outfit, having previously signed midfielder Mikel Merino from them last summer.
This could help in negotiating a long-term payment plan instead of paying the entire transfer fee up front.
Zubimendi could be one of many signings for the Gunners this summer.
The club are also expected to sign a new striker, a versatile winger and a back-up goalkeeper ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
