The Abbott family is officially returning next summer as they face new dangers alongside the alien creatures in A Quiet Place Part 3.

John Krasinski is back writing, directing, and producing A Quiet Place Part 3, which Paramount will release in theaters on July 30, 2027, over six years after the wide launch of the first sci-if horror sequel. During Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon on Thursday, April 16, at which ScreenRant was in attendance, Krasinski appeared on a video to reveal that A Quiet Place Part 3 will be “bigger” than previous installments, teasing an exciting increase in scale for the franchise’s return.

Krasinski also noted that he’s currently deep in pre-production, which bodes well for A Quiet Place Part 3 to begin filming soon. While a production timeline has yet to be confirmed by Paramount or the returning director-writer, the upcoming sci-fi film is expected to start shooting within the next couple months.

The long-awaited sequel features A Quiet Place Part 2‘s returning actors Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds as Evelyn, Marcus, and Regan Abbott, as well as Cillian Murphy back as Emmett. Krasinski also confirmed a few new additions to A Quiet Place Part 3‘s cast last month, including Sinners‘ Jack O’Connell, Pet Sematary‘s Jason Clarke, and The Mandalorian‘s Katy O’Brian.

A Quiet Place Part 3 serves as the fourth film in the hit sci-fi horror franchise, following the releases of A Quiet Place in 2018, A Quiet Place Part 2 in 2021, and the Lupita Nyong’o-led spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One in 2024. The franchise has continued to be a theatrical success for Paramount, with the original movie earning $341 million at the box office, followed by $297 million for Part 2 and $261 million for Day One.

New story details for A Quiet Place Part 3 are still under wraps, with character descriptions for the new cast additions also currently undisclosed. A Quiet Place Part 2 ended with Regan and Emmett successfully broadcasting high frequencies from her hearing aids over the radio, allowing those tuned into the station, including Marcus on his portable radio, to use the noise to incapacitate the monsters. The film’s final scene saw Regan leave the hearing aid at the radio station to continue broadcasting the signal, before seemingly heading to reunite with her mother and siblings.

How long A Quiet Place Part 3 will take place after the new sequel is still unclear, though it is expected to see the Abbott family and Emmett encounter new groups as they expand on their newfound weapon against the alien creatures. Furthermore, it remains to be seen whether the 2027 installment will leave open room for a potential A Quiet Place Part 4, or perhaps set up potential spinoffs to similarly capitalize on the success of Day One.
