God Of War 6 Fans Roast Official Announcement

Growing up with a love for video games means that many of us have imagined just what it would be like to actually star in one. Seeing actors scramble around in motion capture suits has always sparked intrigue, especially with the technology available that can make scenes such as this turn into photorealistic graphics in some of our favorite video games. Well, what if there was a way to star in some big upcoming titles? According to Sony, that is now possible.

Could You End Up In God Of War 6?

One such upcoming title is God of War 6. The highly anticipated sequel may not have been officially confirmed by Santa Monica Studio or Sony itself, but it is expected to launch over the next few years, especially following the success of the ongoing God of War reboot. With rumors suggesting that the next God of War installment may feature a brand-new protagonist, nothing has yet been confirmed, but this recent announcement by Sony may hint at our potential involvement.

Earlier this week saw Sony announce its The Playerbase program, which will allow some of Sony’s biggest fans to star in video games themselves. From 7 April onwards, fans will now be able to apply for the opportunity to step into some of the most anticipated upcoming games, such as Gran Turismo 7, with additional titles being added to the roster in upcoming years. Could God of War 6 be one of these?

After reviewing applications, we’ll select a limited number of finalists to participate in video interviews to learn about them and their connection to PlayStation. From there, one PlayStation fan will be selected to be featured in Gran Turismo 7 as part of The Playerbase, where they will have a special limited-time appearance as an in-game character portrait, similar to how characters are presented throughout the game.

Having your own likeness appear in some of your favorite games will be an opportunity unlike any other, and it was not long before gamers over on r/PS5 shared their thoughts on the brand-new program. More specifically, it seems as though a select few would love the opportunity to “meet” Kratos in God of War 6.

“Ah sweet! I have a chance for my face to be put into the next God of War and be brutally murdered by Kratos,” one user shared. Another agreed with this sentiment, adding, “I want him to rip my spine out on the way to banging Aphrodite.” Interesting, to say the least. However, it seems as though not everyone is on board with this Playerbase program, especially in an era of growing AI technology. “So they’re going to have the rights to your face and can AI it to anything they want?” One user asked, whilst another added, “No, Sony, I will not be giving you my biometric data for free for you to sell to every AI company in existence.”

It is definitely a tricky one, but if you do want to be crushed by Kratos, or become a member of the cheering crowd in Gran Turismo 7, then you can now sign up to The Programme and win the chance to have your likeness digitized forever.
