Zachary Levi’s New Historical Movie With 98% Audience RT Score Is Releasing On Prime Video This Month

Zachary Levi’s new historical movie, Sarah’s Oil, beloved by audiences, is finally flowing onto Prime Video this month.

The biographical drama was released in theaters in November 2025, and though it received generally positive reviews from critics and audiences, it barely made an impact at the box office and failed to make back its $18 million budget by grossing only $12 million worldwide.

Now, four months later, Sarah’s Oil is releasing on Prime Video on April 15. It’s one of many movies and TV shows coming to the streaming service this month, including Crime 101 on April 1, Weapons on April 5, The Boys season 5 on April 8, Balls Up also on the 15th, and American Gladiators season 1 on the 17th.

Vengeance and The Running Man (2025) are coming on the 17th, Kevin on the 20th, The Conjuring: Last Rites on the 21st, and The House of Spirits on the 29th.

What’s new on Prime Video (April 2026)

What Is Sarah’s Oil About?

Sarah’s Oil follows the incredible true story of Sarah Rector, a young African American girl born in Oklahoma during the early 1900s who inherits oil-rich land and, as greedy oil sharks close in, she must fight to maintain control of her fortune, eventually becoming one of the country’s first female African American millionaires at just 11 years old.

The cast includes Naya Desir-Johnson in the lead role as Sarah Rector alongside Zachary Levi, Sonequa Martin-Green, Garret Dillahunt, Kenric Green, Mel Rodriguez, Ryan O’Quinn, Adyan Copes, Bridget Regan, Stelio Savante, Marco Fuller, and Jonathan Lipnicki.

Sarah’s Oil is directed by Cyrus Nowrasteh, with a script written by Betsy Giffen and Cyrus Nowrasteh, inspired by the 2014 book Searching for Sarah Rector: The Richest Black Girl in America by Tonya Bolden.

Sarah’s Oil is also beloved by audiences, earning a near-perfect 98% score from that group, but by coming to Prime Video later this month, Sarah’s Oil is about to reach a much larger audience when it becomes available on streaming.
