Chelsea are showing serious interest in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson during the summer transfer window.
The Blues currently have Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez as their marquee central midfielders, but the latter could head for the exit door.
The Argentine has refused to rule out a summer exit amid interest from Real Madrid, and could be sold for the right price at the end of the season.
Amidst this, the Blues have earmarked Anderson as a prime target to bolster their midfield and they are showing serious interest at the moment.
However, a deal won’t be easy to pull off with Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal also keen on landing the England international.
Furthermore, the player may prioritise Champions League football, which the Blues may struggle to offer next season based on their form.
Chelsea are currently one point behind fifth-placed Liverpool and face a big challenge to qualify for the Champions League in the next campaign.
