While sorting specifically for speed will get you a receiver you can trust to run their routes quickly, and outpace defenders, making sure they also have high stats in other meaningful areas will give you better-rounded receivers.

I combed through the fastest receivers in the game to find the ones that had both the top speed scores, but also good stats in other areas that were important for the position. Although you could just look at the top-rated players in CFB 26, a high overall score isn’t always an indication of who is the fastest. Conversely, a high speed score, while important, might not be everything for a good receiver. You’ll want a fast receiver who can also catch the ball and run their routes effectively.

Jaylen Mbakwe Of The Alabama Crimson Tide

Jaylen Mbakwe Has A 76 Overall Score

Jaylen Mbakwe may largely have average stats in most regards, but his speed, agility and acceleration make him stand out. While speed alone is nice, the ability to quickly get up to top speed and the agility to avoid defenders add a lot to Mbakwe’s appeal. The main downside here is that Mbakwe’s stats for running routes, recognizing plays, and catching the ball are all less impressive.

This doesn’t mean you should completely ignore Mbakwe if you’re playing as Alabama, or he comes up in the transfer portal during Dynasty mode. Given his specific skills, Mbakwe could make a good addition to an offense that likes to run screen passes. You don’t have to worry as much about Mbakwe running a route, or having to catch under pressure if you’re just tossing him a quick pass in the backfield. His superior speed and agility can help you gain yards on white might otherwise be an underwhelming play.

Jordan Anthony Of The Arkansas Razorbacks

Jordan Anthony Has A 76 Overall Score

Arkansas’ Jordan Anthony is a similar case to Jaylen Mbakwe, but with a few key differences. The most apparent is that Anthony’s speed, acceleration, and agility scores are even higher than Mbakwe’s already impressive stats. Anthony also has slightly better catching stats, and deep route running, which are good qualities for a fast wide receiver.

Anthony could be a good player to pass to further downfield. His speed and acceleration will help him create distance between himself and defenders, meaning you don’t have to worry as much about his lower score for catching in traffic. Anthony’s gold Takeoff ability will also help him get downfield faster, and a platinum Shifty ability means he can cut during his route without losing too much speed.

Brenen Thompson Has An 80 Overall Score

Brenen Thompson has an impressive 96 speed score, and while there are faster wide-receivers, he is worth considering thanks to his catching stats. Thompson has solid stats for catching in general, catching in traffic, and performing spectacular catches. This, paired with a pretty good score for deep route running, can make Thompson a serious threat downfield.

Like Jordan Anthony, Thompson also has a gold Takeoff and a platinum Shifty ability. The reason I rank Thompson higher is that his more reliable catching stats make it more likely he’ll pull in any deep bombs you throw him. Thompson’s higher awareness score is also helpful for having him recognize when the ball is coming his way.

Dakorien Moore Has An 84 Overall Score

Dakorien Moore of the Oregon Ducks has an impressive 96 speed score, with a 97 in acceleration and agility to complement it. What’s even better is that he has solid catching skills, and an impressive 91 for spectacular catches. If you’re in need of a clutch play for a big gain, you might want to consider throwing to Moore downfield.

His 86 and 87 scores in deep and medium pass running, respectively, make him versatile in the types of plays he can pull off. Although his agility isn’t as high as some of the other fastest WRs, Wingo makes up for it with his abilities.

Between a platinum Shifty ability and a bronze Side Step, Wingo does a good job maintaining speed while making lateral moves to avoid defenders. His silver Double Dip score also helps him avoid pass coverage on more complicated routes. Wingo can reliably get open if given enough time to make his cuts.

Kendrick Law Has An 83 Overall Score

Kentucky’s Kendrick Law has a 97 speed score, as well as mid-80s scores for running all his routes. This, combined with his silver Shifty ability, make him a solid receiver that can leave defenders in the dust. Although his agility and acceleration are a bit lower than some other players on this list, he does have one big advantage.

Law has an 88 catching score, which gives him an edge over some of the other fastest receivers. It doesn’t matter too much if a player is fast, or even if they can get open, if they can’t hold onto the ball. I’m more than willing to trade a little bit of speed for a player that can more reliably make completions.

Zachariah Branch is one of the best WRs for running deep routes in College Football 26. With a 97 speed score and a 98 in acceleration and agility, Branch is hard to keep up with. Add his 90 in deep route running and a platinum Double Dip ability, and you’re looking at a player who can execute complicated routes and create space for some spectacular plays.

If you’re putting your own team together, Branch is a player you’ll want to pair up with one of College Football 26‘s top QBs, likely a pocket passer with a strong arm. That way, you know you can accurately deliver balls downfield for him to scoop up. Just make sure not to throw to Branch through too much traffic, as his stats for catching under pressure are much lower.

Nyck Harbor Has An 82 Overall Score

Given his lower overall score, I could see players deciding to pick Zachariah Branch over South Carolina’s Nyck Harbor. However, Harbor is the kind of player that can generate some truly exciting plays. His 99 speed and gold Takeoff ability help him shoot downfield with little resistance, making him a good target for longer passes.

He also has a platinum Shifty ability which means he can maintain this speed even after cutting on a route. Thanks to his silver Double Dip, you can give Brown some complicated routes to run without worrying that he’ll slow down too much.

Although he doesn’t have a top score in any type of route running, he does have solid scores in all three. This makes him a very versatile receiver, which is always helpful for beating the defense and developing plays around him. In terms of pure speed and acceleration, Brown can’t be beat.

While not the fastest WR in the game, Ryan Williams is still pretty speedy with a 96. Add to that his 99 scores in both acceleration and agility, and Williams is easily one of the best players at reaching and maintaining his top speed.
